Certainly wasn’t planning on reading nearly half of Forged in one night but I’ve definitely done that. 114/265 pages.
Big big big complaint: the footnotes are all at the end of the book so I have to keep a few fingers in the end of the book and flip back and forth to read all the goodies.
Other than that, it’s spectacular. Lots and lots of stuff you can see without even...

My copy of Forged just arrived
And let me just say the eBook apparently cost more than the fucking hardback. I had no idea they were sending me the hardback when I made the decision to purchase in dead-trees since it was like 2 USD cheaper.
As a writer who has done more research on the publishing industry than many might imagine was even possible, let me just say how f’n pissed I am.

The only solution is to have a music fight between the bands bracket style until one new-to-me band remains victorious.
Today’s bands are ACDC and Aerosmith. Speculate wildly and bet the outcome of this completely arbitrary battle!

And it was one of those obnoxious staff give-away spams but it claimed that it was a real give away in response to all the scams.
Bleh.
I hate sooooo many people right now.

Speaking at a recent conference, Mark Bertolli, CEO and Chairman of Aetna Insurance, announced that the end is near for profit driven health insurance companies. “The system doesn’t work, it’s broke today. The end of insurance companies, the way we’ve run the business in the past, is here.”
In highlighting the reasons for his bold statement, Bertolli called out...

Greece Throws in the Towel, Bows to German... →
Greeks [agreed to] a deal with the Eurozone leaders [on] Monday that will cede much of their country’s independence. Greece will become an economic – and to a large extent a political – colony of Germany and its allies. Berlin will have a say in everything from the choice of prime minister to the types of medicines dispensed by pharmacies.
In return for €230bn, made up of €130bn in fresh...

I really dislike all of them, but I think I dislike Romney the least.
If any of the others even get the chance to be president I will just cry forever.
And a note to all the people who said they wanted Ron Paul to win, fuck you guys.
Pot should be legal and all, but I’d really prefer not to have a racist, sexist libertarian asshole running the country.

So, the government cuts spending, then what?
For example. When I lost my job and had to take one making less, my household budget got smaller. I cut out unnecessary spending, one of the first things I stopped doing was going to the car wash.
I used to go to the car wash at least twice a month, then all at once I stopped. I bring this up because I’ve noticed as the economy was...

In this case, I’m fairly sure it’s legal. This has been their modus operandi for at least seven years (not the first time I’ve worked with them).
Definitely unethical though.

No benefits so far. Won’t be any until I’m hired on for real.
Saw a bizarrely non-descript non-profit position I may apply for. Pays about the same but gives benefits. Just completely clueless what the job actually entails.
Seriously, fuck 'right to work' laws
anticapitalist:
Can we call it the ‘right to suck corporate dick’ law instead, because that’s what it is.
Blah.
This job needs to finally hire me for real. It’s supposed to be 90 days to perm and I’ve been here nearly a year. They’re really taking advantage.

In 2004, the Bush Administration won re-election
Through a dirty trick known as Voter Caging. It’s a form of disenfranchisment where they send voter verification forms to addresses of likely Democrat voters who will be unlikely to respond to the verification forms. The Republican party has done this a number of times and was ordered to stop. However, the Bush folks brought it back to win the 2004 election.
It worked because it was a...
